PhD Position - development of innate immunity in the mouse fetus

A position is immediately available in the group of Prof. Dr. Markus Sperandio at the Walter Brendel Center for Experimental Medicine, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, München. The PhD student will join a dedicated team focusing on the development of innate immunity in the mouse fetus. The project is embedded in the Collaboration Research Center CRC914 (Sonderforschungsbereich SFB914) on leukocyte trafficking funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG).
The prospective doctoral student will apply a variety of experimental in vivo as well as in vitro approaches including multiphoton laser scanning intravital microscopy, in vitro flow chamber assays, immunostaining, and FACS to study neutrophil trafficking in the living mouse fetus in the context of perinatal infections.
The highly motivated candidate should hold a diploma or masters in biology, biochemistry, veterinary medicine or related fields and preferably have some experience in animal experiments.
